Day Of The Dead (2008)

Day of the Dead (also known as George A. Romero's Day of the Dead) is a horror film by director George A. Romero. The third of Romero's five Living Dead movies. It is preceded by Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, and succeeded by Land of the Dead. Steve Miner is directing a remake, and Romero himself is also in the midst of completing a fifth zombie film, Diary of the Dead, but claims it is not directly a part of the series.Romero himself cites Day of the Dead as his personal favorite of his original trilogy of zombie films.Day of the Dead deals with the zombie assault on a military establishment, satirizing the military mindset in the process. The film received the least enthusiastic critical review of the four films. The film has been widely criticized for various reasons. Many fans of the second film, Dawn of the Dead, were disappointed in this third offering, as its plot is considerably less sweeping in nature. Fans of the film point out, however, that the iconic human characters purposely contrast with the precocious zombie lead, "Bub", underscoring that zombies and humans are not so different. An outrageous selection of zombies are presented, and the special effects are worlds ahead of what was presented in the previous installment. Although the film is set somewhere in Florida (perhaps in Fort Myers or Sanibel Island, where the initial scenes were filmed), it was primarily filmed in Wampum, Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh, and near Beaver Falls.

Things We Lost in the Fire (2007)

Audrey Burke (Halle Berry) and her warm and loving husband Brian have been married 11 years ago; they have a 10-year old girl Harper (Alexis Llewellyn) and 6-year old boy Dory (Micah Berry). Jerry Sunborne (Benicio del Toro) is a drug addict who has been Brian’s close friend since childhood.Audrey gets bad news delivered to her door by the local police: Brian has been killed in an attempt to defend a woman when her husband was violent to her. On the day of the funeral Audrey realizes that she has forgotten to inform Jerry. Her brother drives to Jerry, tells him about the death, and takes him to the funeral.
Audrey invites Jerry to move into the room adjacent to their garage, which he does. It is a daily battle for him to stay off drugs, but Jerry and the children are fond of each other. Although Audrey and Jerry are not lovers, Audrey invites Jerry into her bed when she cannot sleep: she asked him to gently pull her ear as Brian used to do, this helps her fall asleep; Jerry complies. Their bond is fragile. For example, Audrey is upset that Jerry succeeds in convincing Dory to overcome his fear for going underwater with his head in the swimming pool. She sends him away, after which he relapses. She and her brother help him, and she pays for him going to a clinic. Harper is upset that Jerry, whom she sees as her new father, leaves them. First she does not even want to say goodbye, but comes running after the car at last.

Cassandra’s Dream (2007)

When the two brothers ask for his financial help, he unexpectedly reveals that he’s about to go to jail due to certain accusations coming from Martin Burns, an old business partner who plans to testify against him. Howard asks his two nephews to murder Burns.

Born to be the perfect Spartan, Leonidas (Sean Magiure) faces numerous trials en route to becoming a man, including a face-off with the penguin from HAPPY FEET. Once he has proven himself, Leonidas not only becomes king, but also marries superhot (and slightly slutty) Margot (Carmen Electra). When Leonidas learns that Persia’s King Xerxes (Ken Davitian, BORAT) plans to make Sparta his own, he has his captain (Kevin Sorbo, HERCULES) recruit Sparta’s finest and prepare them for battle against invading Persian forces. Unfortunately, that amounts to only 13 half-naked men with painted-on abs who literally prance to their destination. To make matters worse, Spartan councilman Traitoro (Diedrich Bader) is, well, a traitor. Still, Leonidas and his men face their enemy in battle, riffing on STOMP THE YARD, GHOST RIDER, TRANSFORMERS, and numerous other films along the way, as well as the video game GRAND THEFT AUTO. Freidberg and Seltzer poke fun at virtually every recent cultural phenomenon and pop culture personality, including Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, Paris Hilton, DANCING WITH THE STARS, AMERICAN IDOL, and DEAL OR NO DEAL. Even UGLY BETTY makes an appearance. Be prepared for an abundance of gross-out humor, spurts of bodily fluids, some sexual innuendo, and multiple jokes about homosexuality. Stick around after the musical finale as the credits start to roll: the deleted scenes prove to be some of the most amusing in the film.

Highly-rated comedy/drama â??Lars And The Real Girlâ??, previously available on a superb DVDSCR by mVs finally made its way in DVDRip quality, thanks to group SATIVA. Splatter (2007)

King Of California (2007

At the age of sixteen, Miranda (Evan Rachel Wood) has already had to live with her share of disappointments. Abandoned by her mother, she's dropped out of school and has been supporting herself as an employee at McDonald's while her father Charlie (Michael Douglas) resides in a mental institution.

When Charlie is released and sent back to their home, Miranda finds the relatively peaceful existence she's built for herself completely disrupted. Charlie has become obsessed with the notion that the long-lost treasure of Spanish explorer Father Juan Florismarte Garcés is buried somewhere near their suburban California house. Armed with a metal detector and a stack of treasure-hunting books, Charlie soon finds reason to believe that the gold resides underneath the local Costco, and encourages Miranda to get a job there so that they can plan a way to excavate after hours.

Initially skeptical, Miranda soon finds herself joining in Charlie's questionable antics in an effort to give him one last shot at accomplishing his dreams.
